What Remains is a collection shaped through sustained attention to botanical forms
and the quiet transformations they undergo over time.
These paintings do not seek to preserve flowers against change.
They remain with them, observing the fragile interval between presence and disappearance, bloom and memory.
Each work asks whether attentive looking might itself become an act of care.

A group of six smaller studies extends the language of What Remains through fragment, repetition and tonal restraint. These works operate as residues or echoes of the larger paintings. Intimate botanical traces held in suspension between emergence and disappearance.

WHAT REMAINS
What Remains begins with the flower, but does not remain there.
Rather than depicting botanical forms as subjects, the works approach them as thresholds. Places where presence and disappearance briefly coexist. Petals dissolve into atmosphere, stems hover at the edge of legibility, and surfaces register interruption, erosion and repair. Materials are allowed to soften, fracture and change, carrying the same fragile conditions they seek to observe.
Across the collection, making becomes a form of witnessing. These paintings do not attempt to preserve what is vanishing so much as remain with it. They stay with what lingers after change – what withdraws, what softens and what quietly continues through trace. In this sense, painting becomes an act of attention rather than preservation, allowing fragile evidence to remain visible without fixing it in place.
What Remains forms part of Material Elegies, an ongoing practice shaped through sustained attention, where materials become witnesses to memory, transformation and the fragile conditions of change.
